Plant-based milks 🥛

Did you know that your dairy-free milks could still be causing gut issues?


Plant-based milks that contain oils, gums, and additives like carrageenan, guar gum, or sunflower lecithin can disrupt gut health by irritating the gut lining, feeding the wrong bacteria and can cause bloating or inflammation.


I get why brands add these ingredients - it's to help with texture and shelf life - but this comes at the expense of digestion and microbiome balance.


I have combed through the plant based milks at the supermarket and honestly - most of them are terrible.


These three are the only ones I ever recommend from the supermarket, because:


1) They don't contain oils

2) There's no gums

3) They're calcium fortified (except for Coco Quench)

4) They're organic


There are great plant based milks in the refrigerated section which have great, clean ingredients - but I'm yet to find one that contains calcium.


If I had to pick one, I always go with the Pure Harvest Almond Milk because I like the nutrition breakdown of this one the best.
